P.D. Boaz One person’s vision and sense of purpose led to the founding of the Boaz Public School. In the year 1994, our founder Thiru P.D. Boaz set up a two-room school with 3 children in a thatched shed on a deserted patch of highway, which today is the bustling and crowded Gowrivakkam. It was from this humble beginning that the school has developed into a K12 CBSE educational institution that is truly a pillar in the community. As we go forward, the vision of our founder continues to guide us.
Asha Boaz, daughter of the Founder, is the Chief Operating Officer at Boaz Public School. Dr Asha is a gold medallist from the University of Madras and holds a multi-disciplinary PhD in Education and Psychology. She has over 20 years of corporate experience in Administration, Accounts, Team Management, and HR. Asha provides strategic leadership, overseeing all aspects of the institution’s operations, growth, and vision. This role includes managing relationships with the Trust, staff, parents, and external stakeholders while fostering a positive school culture. Asha also ensures compliance with regulations and policies,while aligning the school’s mission with its day-to-day operations. Her interests include reading, baking, fluid art, health and nutrition, weight lifting, marathons.
Principal Manju Sukumaran holds an MSc in Biotechnology from the University of Madras. She teaches Physics and Biology. She has been serving BPS for the past 15 years, with 7 years as Vice Principal. She effectively coordinates and fosters developmental activities in the school. She is our in-house CBSE expert. Manju has attended 50+ CBSE workshops and countless trainings related to curriculum planning and development. She is the recipient of the Boaz Best Teacher Award 2017–18 and Best Teacher Zone 4 South Cluster Chennai Sahodhaya School Complex 2023–24. Her areas of expertise include mentoring and guiding teachers to prepare the Annual Pedagogical Plan, customizing teaching strategy, multitasking, quick analysis and problem-solving techniques, CBSE documentation, organising workshops, career guidance programmes, and much more. Manju is the chief academic and administrative leader, responsible for overseeing all educational and operational aspects. She ensures that the school’s curriculum, teaching methods, and student programmes align with academic standards and goals. She manages faculty and staff, fosters a positive school culture, and maintains discipline while supporting student growth. Manju also engages with parents, the community, and other stakeholders to build strong partnerships. Additionally, she ensures compliance with educational regulations and policies while driving continuous improvement.
High School Vice Principal Shirley is an exceptional Physics teacher with rich experience of twelve years, and nine years of association with Boaz Public School. She is outstanding in her teaching methods and content delivery. She excels at breaking down complex textbook content into easily understandable student-friendly material. She holds a master’s degree in Physics, a B.Ed. from St. Christopher’s College of Education, and an Honor’s Diploma in Computers from Central Government of India. Shirley has attended 30+ CBSE workshops and has invaluable academic and skill training. She is the recipient of the Best Teacher Award in 2019 from Chennai Institute of Technology and is a certified Innovation Ambassador from Central Government of India.
Middle School Vice Principal Annammal is our inhouse Tamil Language expert. She holds a Master’s in Tamil and also a B.Ed. With 21 years of experience in the field of education she has journeyed from a Primary teacher to the role of Vice Principal. Her passion for education has driven her to continuously innovate teaching methods and support their growth. She strives to contribute to the overall development of the school. Annammal is an excellent organizer and BPS Founder’s Day, Sports Day, and a variety of cultural activities are a testimony to her meticulous planning. Through the year Annammal also works on schedules and duties for teaching staff and compiles the academic Timetable. Under her able leadership, the Clasp afterschool programme has grown and flourished. She has attended over 40 training workshops and seminars and has 21 years of teaching experience, with 5 years as Moderator and two years as Vice Principal. Annammal is the recipient of the Lion’s Club Best Teacher Award for 2020–21 and Chennai Sahodhaya School Complex ‘Acharya Mani’ award for 2023–24.
Primary School Vice Principal Jasinth holds a Master’s degree in Mathematics. She has 15.5 years of teaching experience and 14 years devoted to Boaz Public School, serving as a shrewd and prudent Vice Principal. Unhesitant to introduce innovative methodologies, Jasinth is dedicated to upskilling students and strengthening their reading comprehension abilities within the primary school setting. She has attended over 50 training workshops. She has journeyed from Maths Teacher to the role of Vice Principal. Her passion for education and her care for the growth of students is commendable. She has also received the Best Teacher Award in Gleneagles Global Health City.
Joseph holds a Master’s in Business Administration and Marketing. He oversees the daily logistical and operational functions, ensuring smooth running of non-academic activities. Jospeh manages facilities, transportation, technology, and compliance with health and safety regulations. He supports the school's leadership in executing strategic initiatives and improving operational efficiency.
Kothandaraman holds a Master’s in Business Administration and a Bachelor’s in Commerce. He manages the institution's financial operations, including budgeting, accounting, and financial reporting. He oversees payroll, tuition collection, vendor payments, and ensures compliance with financial regulations. This role includes preparing financial statements, managing audits, and advising school leadership on fiscal strategies. Kothandaraman also collaborates with other departments to align financial resources with the school’s goals.
Babu holds a Master’s degree in Commerce. He oversees the administrative and operational functions, ensuring that both staff and resources are effectively utilized. He coordinates day-to-day activities such as staff scheduling, facilities management, and student services. This role includes supervising support staff, managing budgets, and ensuring adherence to school policies and procedures. Babu also acts as a liaison between staff, students, parents, and Team Boaz.
