Boaz Clubs
2024–2025

We offer our children a wide variety of co-curricular activities. It is mandatory for each student of Classes 6–9 to be a part of at least one of the clubs. Classes are conducted on Thursdays between 12.45pm and 1.20 pm.

 

1. TAMIL
In this club students are taught how to analyze a report critically and present their views in an appropriate format. The students are also given ample opportunities to polish their oratory skills through activities such as extempore, debate, discussion, poem writing, talk shows, etc. In this club, students learn the finer points of the structure of their presentation, the target audience, body language, the visual channel, and vocal power to enhance their public speaking skills. Regular discussions on critical and interesting editorials are used to engage students in an enriching manner.
Activities: Story Writing; Extempore; Quiz; Drama; Street Plays; Villupaatu; Book Club.


2. ENGLISH
The aim of the club is to hone the speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills of students. It also strives to develop a love for the language, while polishing the oratory skills of the students.
Activities: Word Chain; Poets and Authors; Word Jumble Race; Book Club; Crossword Puzzles; Collage Making; Extempore; Skit; Role Play; Panel Discussion; Debate; Book Club.

 

3. MATH
This club has been introduced with the aim of making mathematics fun for students. It endeavours to help students grasp mathematical concepts better through activities like puzzles, shortcuts, calculations, games, and quizzes.
Activities: Origami and Shapes; Artistic Designs; Measurements; Tiles Formulas and Block Models; Math Puzzles and Games; Competitions; Problem-Solving Sessions; Olympiad Prep; Math Relay Races.

 

4. SCIENCE
This club inculcates a scientific temper among students by introducing concepts of Science through a process of inquiry, experimentation, and analysis.
Activities: Earth Week captions, Young Scientists—Design Your Experiment, Visit to School Garden, Debate, Scientific Literature, Role Play, Fact File preparation.

 

5. HERITAGE
The Heritage Club plays a crucial role in preserving and celebrating cultural diversity in our campus. The club focusses on exploring and understanding our rich heritage and traditions. Students engage in activities such as cultural events, presentations, and projects that highlight the significance of historical practices and customs. Joining a heritage club at the school level provides students with an opportunity to connect with their roots, appreciate diversity, and contribute to the promotion of cultural awareness within the school community.
Activities: Traditional Games; Jallikattu; Archaeological Findings of Tamil Nadu; Keezhadi; Elocution; Quiz; Traditional Food; Art Forms of Tamilnadu; Jewellery Making

 

6. MUSIC
It is a platform for peers to bond over music in terms of performing, collaborating, learning, sharing, exploring, and creating by studying diversity in music. This club introduces students to vocal music as a genre of music performed by one or more singers. The students are told about the importance of lyrics in producing a harmonious and melodious piece of music.
Activities: Jam Sessions; Music Workshops; Music Quiz; Songwriting Contests; Music Appreciation Sessions; Therapeutic Music Sessions;

 

7. ROAD SAFETY PATROL
The club provides a platform for students to discuss safety measures on roads. Activities like poster making, slogan writing, group discussion, skits and projects are discussed. Students also spread awareness in and around the school by talking to people and children about adoption of safety measures.

8. SCOUTS AND GUIDES
It is a special club formed with the motive of helping students develop their team building skills, to savour the thrills of adventure, and have them show compassion towards others by performing service-based, health-enhancement activities.
Activities: Mottos; Signs; Rope Whipping; Knotting; Flag Ethics; Woodcraft Signs; First Aid.

 

9. MAGAZINE
Students prepare and take turns in hosting news programmes. The process makes them avid readers, knowledge seekers, and smart thinkers with excellent analytical skills. Club members create a digital campus magazine at the end of the year.
Activities: Tools and Techniques; Brainstorming Sessions; Article Writing Workshops;
Editing and Proofreading Sessions; Interview Practice; Social Media Promotion; Cover Design Contests; Review Sessions.


10. QUIZ
The Quiz club is active and efficient in igniting young minds to consistently raise the bar in quizzing. Students gather and discuss vital information regarding various fields, such as scientific inventions, discoveries, sports, education, achievements, awards, around the globe.
Activities: Event-Based Quiz; Mock Quiz; Debates and Discussions; Quiz Apps;


11. ECO CLUB
This club is very popular with students. It combines class curriculum and outdoor training and helps students to learn about ecology, forestry, soil and land use, wildlife, and current environmental issues. Saving Mother Earth is the focus of this club. Children are engaged in various projects to help clean and green up our local community by gardening. It sensitizes students towards eco awareness, maintenance of greenery around homes by various planting-drive programmes, making best out of waste, and so on.
Activities: Earth Day Celebration; Poster Making; Gardening—one child, one plant; Logo Making; Water Conservation; Debate; Talent Show.


12. ART
The Art club provides a creative space for students to express themselves through various artistic mediums. They organize art projects, exhibitions, and collaborative activities, fostering a sense of community and encouraging artistic exploration among students.
Activities: Bird House Making; Decorations for Bird House; Paper Bunting; Frosty Painting, Pot Making, Pop Up Cards, Paint your Emotions


13. EXAM WARRIORS
In this club, students are trained to excel in competitive examinations such as Olympiads, NTSE, NSTSE, Aryabhata Ganit Challenge, General Aptitude tests, etc.
Activities: Study Sessions; Study Groups; Exam Prep Workshops; Mock Exams;
Resource Sharing; Guest Speakers; Peer Tutoring; Mindfulness and Stress Reduction Sessions; Goal Setting Workshops; Group Reviews; Peer Feedback Sessions.


14. TOURISM
The objective of this club is to create interests, awareness, and a sense of responsibility towards our natural and cultural heritage/tourism amongst students.
Activities: Destination Discussions; Travel Workshops; Guest Speakers; Cultural Nights; Photo Contests; Local Excursions; Travel Quiz.


15. DICE MASTERS
The objective of the club is to foster strategic thinking, probability understanding, and social interaction through playing Board Games. Board games offer a wide range of benefits, making them a popular and enjoyable activity for people of all ages. Board games provide an opportunity for face-to-face interaction, promoting socialization and communication among players. Many board games require strategic thinking, problem-solving, and critical reasoning. This helps in the development and maintenance of cognitive abilities. Numerous board games are designed to be educational, teaching various concepts such as math, language, history, and science. Board games teach patience and sportsmanship, as players learn to handle wins and losses gracefully. It encourages a positive attitude, resilience, and the ability to enjoy the experience rather than focusing solely on the outcome. Some board games involve elements of creativity, such as storytelling or artistic expression. This can stimulate the imagination and foster creative thinking in players. In an era dominated by digital devices, board games offer a valuable opportunity for screen-free entertainment. They encourage people to disconnect from screens and engage in a shared, tactile experience.

16. POSITIVE PULSE
Positive Pulse focusses on the mental well-being of students and staff. The club has planned several activities that will stimulate the pituitary gland and the hypothalamus to secrete ‘feel good hormones.’ These hormones have the capacity to reduce pain and improve the sense of well-being. Significance will be laid on simple lifestyle habits:
Activities: Mindfulness and Meditation; Journaling; Art and Craft Therapy; Gratitude Circles; Relaxation and Breathing Exercises; Peer Support Groups; Digital Detox Events;
Emotional Intelligence Workshops; Random Acts of Kindness Campaigns.
